St. Henry Youth Ministry 2019-2020: Verso L’alto – “To the Heights” – Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati  – A Note from Joe Hemmelgarn and the Youth Ministry:  As a new school year commences, I would like to take this time to formally introduce myself and cast vision for the youth ministry this year. As many of you know, I am currently serving as a FOCUS missionary at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, and I am excited to be able to do ministry here in my home parish as well! I will be coming home once a month to facilitate events with the high school students and build the youth community. Looking back at my time in high school, I desperately needed a community that would help me to grow as a young man. I did not discover this type of community until I went to college. I hope to lead our youth in these monthly events and begin to foster a community that has fun but also seeks to know and encounter Jesus! I know these next couple of weeks will be very busy with school starting and activities, so I have planned to have our first events the weekend of September 14th and 15th. Tentatively, a youth Mass will be celebrated on Sunday evening with a BBQ dinner to follow. More details and times will be forth coming! The Friday morning prayer service will continue to take place each week at 7:00 AM at St. Henry Church as well. If you are interested in helping with our youth events or if you have any questions, please contact Joe Hemmelgarn at 419-852-1362 or joseph.hemmelgarn@focus.org or the Parish Office. Thanks and God Bless!
